![]() Bio-Mechanics Cycles & Repairs was launched in November 2004 by Peter Hague. With almost twenty years’ experience in the bicycle industry, Pete saw a need for a dedicated repair workshop which offered South Australian cyclists a level of service and attention to detail which had hitherto been missing. Pete’s mechanical skills, as well as his specialist knowledge, quickly helped establish BMCR as one of Australia’s premier bicycle repair shops*. He was in such demand that Lia Weston, his wife, ditched her publishing career in July 2007 in order to handle BMCR’s marketing and admin. (And also to see her spouse in daylight hours.) In his rare spare time, Pete likes to get out and about on either his custom-made Baum road bike or one of his several mountain bikes. (A Commençal will soon be added to the collection.) When she’s not slaving over a hot PC, Lia likes experimental cookery and exploring the great outdoors with Kif the German Shepherd. Pete says: “Pete is an old man who lives at the shop.” Lia says: “When I grow up, I want to be a bike mechanic... or a caterpillar.”
* NB: ‘premier’ and ‘repair shop’ are registered trade marks of BMCR & all BMCR-related subsidiaries. Surprise trivia: a sizeable percentage of Pete’s work involves un-doing the work of other bike shops.
