Here are a few of our favourite things. Because without accessories, BMCR would just be the World's Best Bike Repair Workshop. (Don’t see what you’re after in the stock list? We can probably get it – just ask!)
Brooks
These handmade saddles are legendary, and for good reason. The leather top moulds to your body shape, giving you the most comfortable ride you’ve ever had. Not only that, they’ll also last forever if you look after them. (Match that, fancy gel seat!) BMCR has Adelaide’s largest range of saddles, plus other Brooks goodies such as maintenance kits, spanners, Proofide wax, and rain covers. (p.s. Don’t live in Adelaide? For $15 P&H within Australia, we'll mail order one to you!) Hey - we're also on the Brooks Dealers page!
What've we got? B-17 (standard, special, imperial, aged, women's, and narrow) and Team Pro.
Vaude
Known for quality and attention to detail (they’re German, after all), Vaude offers everything to keep you and your bits ‘n’ pieces dry and comfortable. We’ve raved about Vaude cycle bags for years, and are proud to also offer Vaude clothing. Whether you need a super-lightweight shell, a fully waterproof jacket, a windbreaker with zip-off sleeves, cycling pants, or anything in between, you’ll find the goods here.
What’ve we got? Road Master, Aqua Back, and Wright panniers; Silk Road rack bags; Race Light saddle bags; Splash Air, Roomy 17+3, Alpin, and Cycle 25 backpacks; Air, Drop, Optic, Splash, Unique, Casella eVent, Stretched Reality, and Dundee jackets; Birdride and Cruise shorts; plus knicks and gloves.
Kask
New to BMCR, Kask helmets are 100% made in Italy, and amazing quality. Kask is devoted to technological excellence and unsurpassed quality, but we love their helmets for the fit (seriously, we've never seen retention systems like it!) and comfort. And if they're good enough for Team Sky, they're good enough for us...
What've we got? Vertigo and K-50.
Schwalbe
Another stand-out German company, Schwalbe tyres are not only durable and puncture-resistant, they're also really well priced. (In case you're not sure, we have a few criteria as to what goes on our shelves: it has to work, be durable, be well made, and offer value for money. If it's also unique, that's a bonus!) Whether you're needing a super-slick racing tyre, a tough tubeless mountain bike tread, or something unusual like the Insider (just made for indoor trainers), Schwalbe is a great way to go.
What've we got? Luganos, Hurricanes, Marathons, Ultremos, Kojaks, Insiders, Racing Ralphs, Duranos, and Nobby Nics. Plus we can do special orders!
X-Fusion
"Who?" You may not have heard of these guys, but they've actually been making suspension for some of the world's biggest brands for years. X-Fusion is their own label - think of it as Home Brand suspension; same product, different name. We've used this stuff for a while and have been impressed at the quality, particularly considering the price - it's a bargain. Give 'em a chance; you'll never look back!
What've we got? Forks and shocks, homes.
FRM
Because we can't seem to stop stocking Italian stuff (ciao, ciao!), we've also taken on FRM. A quality Italian brand, FRM offers a brilliant tubeless system to rival Stan's, plus we've also got the FRM Titanos 29er wheelset -hand-built, tubeless-ready, light, reliable, and cheaper than DT Swiss but of comparable quality.
What've we got? Tubeless systems, wheel sets, rotors, cranks, brakes, and more.
Torq Torq products are just the bee's knees. Easy to eat and easy to digest (no mouthful-of-gum gels or eating-a-block-of-chalk bars here), they also contain no artificial sweeteners, colours, flavours, or preservatives. Torq stuff also come in vegan, vegetarian, and raw-food-arian options. As a bonus, we can also order in mixed boxes of bars or gels with your favourite flavours! (Try the Sundried Banana - it tastes like fruit cake.)
What've we got? Bars, gels, shots, and 1.5 kilogram tubs of the energy and recovery powders.
Met Yes, they're also Italian. (What? They're good at making stuff.) Met helmets are great quality, and have something to suit everyone's budget. Met also do all of their design, testing, and manufacturing in-house (a rarity in cycle helmet), and have a pithy slogan: One brain. Use it. (Like most things, it sounds better in another language. Un cerebro. Usalo!) Whether you're needing a top-of-the-line super-lightweight Inferno (our best-selling road helmet) or perhaps a special design for your especially large skull (thank you, Testagrossa), there's a Met on your horizon. No, not literally. Well, maybe.
What've we got? Aliseo, Falco, Forte, Inferno, Testagrossa, plus can order in if required.
Northwave
Technologically advanced, orthopaedically designed, and packed with features such as the Ultra Y heel retention system (to keep your foot in a more natural riding position), 3D Power Cage (to protect and stabilise the foot, and, possibly, to battle Gladiators), and the SBS closure system for quick and precise adjustment, Northwave shoes will keep your feet—and your wallet!—happy.
As BMCR customer Stuart Heseltine says: “Fantastic heel support, great stiffness in the sole, and I love the customisable fit - I'm never wearing Specialized shoes ever again!"
What've we got? Road shoes: Aerlite 3, Typhoon SBS (new!) and Vertigo. MTB shoes: Aerlite SBS, Raptor SBS, and Spike.
Ortlieb
If you’ve got some heavy-duty touring to do, these are the panniers for you. Ortlieb panniers are renowned for their waterproof qualities and sheer toughness. They look great, are easy to use, and will probably outlast your bike. Plus you’ve got to love any company who’ll patch your bag if it’s been damaged by mice (seriously) and whose website FAQ contains this gem: “May I use a waterproof marker for writing on my map case?” (Ortlieb: “Yes, you may.”)
What've we got? Back-Roller Classic.
Human Kinetics
Is your copy of Lance’s latest autobiography looking a bit dog-eared? Want to expand your knowledge of training techniques that don’t involve taking EPO? Meet Human Kinetics: the world’s leading publisher of sports and physical activity resources. In addition to cycling books, they cover stretching, nutrition, strength training, sports injuries, and loads more. Because cyclists, unlike other sports people (*cough*footballers*cough*), like to read.
What've we got? Mastering Mountain Bike Skills 2nd Ed, Cycling Past 50, Mastering Cycling, Cycling Fast, Fitness Cycling and Cycling Anatomy.
