Who are Commencal?

Formed by Max Commençal in 1999, Commençal Bikes use the expertise of BOS Engineering’s Frederic Bernard and Olivier Bossard to create the most efficient bikes on the market. BOS’s Formula 1 background provides them with data-log technology techniques to pin-point the best location for all suspension components depending on what the bike will ultimately be used for.

Several models use their unique Contact System, a specially-designed single pivot point and connecting rod/rocker link system which provides maximum traction on small impacts, comfort throughout the entire suspension travel, and a progressive suspension rate so the bike doesn’t bottom out on big impacts.

The Commençal design team have produced bikes which have won over 70 World Championship titles across the sport. The current Commençal team includes Cedric Gracia (UCI World Cup ranking: 8th in 4X, 10th in DH), multi-time DH Marathon European Champion Remy Absalon, and the podium-dominating Atherton family Dan, Gee, and Rachel.
