We’ve been looking for a perfect commuter bike brand to offer you, and here it is!
Whyte Portobello
The Portobello's aluminium frame features MTB-inspired geometry so its handling is sporty yet still stable at high speed. Designed with the commuter in mind, it offers bosses to take a rear rack, mudguards, and two bottle cages. Other nifty features include hydraulic disc brakes, solid bar end caps, removable security skewers, pedals with cages and clips, puncture-resistant Maxxis tyres, and a compact crankset to keep you moving up the hills. The relaxed riding position also means you've got great visibility for the road ahead (or for checking out interesting new bars on the way home from work).
Perfect for: commuters looking for great performance at an excellent price
- Shimano Sora 9-speed gearing, FSA headset, Alex rims, Tektro brakes
- Aluminium frame and fork
- Long wheelbase and relaxed head angle for high speed stability
Whyte Cambridge
Like the Portobello, the Cambridge comes from a MTB background so it zips into side streets with ease but won’t alarm you with any unexpected wobbles or flex. You’ve got the same relaxed riding position, bosses to take bits and pieces, hydraulic disc brakes, removable security skewers, etc., etc., etc., too. "So what's the difference then, smart guy?" you ask. Easy: they’ve got the same frame, but the Cambridge boasts carbon fork to lighten things up (though the Portobello isn't heavy by any means), plus it’s equipped with Sram 10-speed gearing.
Perfect for: commuters looking for great performance that's a little bit lighter
- Sram Apex 10-speed gearing, FSA headset, Alex rims, Tektro brakes
- Aluminium frame, carbon fork
- Long wheelbase and relaxed head angle for high speed stability
