How about 15% off all floor stock during October? Consider it done,
Captain Demando.

Choose your poison:

Master the road!
* Road Master Panniers, both front and back designs with inner and outer pockets (in a slightly confusing twist, the front can also be used on the back);

er... handle the road!
* the Road II handle bar bag, with spots for everything plus a removable map pocket;

Make the road silky? (I don't know! Stop asking me.)
* the Silkroad II bike rack bag, complete with built-in bottle holder and shock cord gear holder;

* three sizes of Race Light saddle bags which will fit a spare tube or two plus a mini tool and tyre lever. Nifty!

All Vaude bike bags are light and durable, and all (bar the saddle bags) include a natty rain cover. As Vaude themselves say, 'The only thing you'll be searching for is your way."

Erm, quite.
Dear Subscriber,

Just as the cherry blossom heralds the advent of warmer weather, so too does the stream of dusty bikes, recently unearthed from garden sheds and dropped on our doorstep for a bit of mechanical lovin'. Though their chains may be welded together with rust and their saddle undersides festooned with the carcasses of spiders which died in the 80s, their two-wheeled hearts beat true.

Apropros of nothing, BMCR is closing! No, wait, don't freak out yet: it's only for a week. Yes, we're taking a quick break next week (October 13) but will attend to all of your emails/phone messages/notes pushed under the door/bikes welded to the doorjamb when we return on Monday, October 20. I'm so excited about the prospect of an actual holiday, I think I'll express myself musically.

There's a bright gold jer-sey in the distance,
There's a bright gold jer-sey in the distance,
Speculation's as high as Ric Riccò's eye
And if Lance doesn't show we know Mike Rann will cryyyyyy...
(Come on, everyone! You know the words!)
 Oh, which pro riders are Tour-ing?
Which ones in Europe will stay?...

OK, I'll spare you the rest.  (Until next month... Ha! Ha! Ha!)
New in store
Attention roadies: set a new standard in your riding group, or just put The Fear into your racing opposition with the Michelin Pro 3! ThisFaster! Faster, I say! high-performance race tyre offers you minimum rolling resistance, maximum cornering grip, exceptional durability, and is virtually puncture proof. Set the road -- and your heart -- aflame!

If you're the kind of person who likes to tinker (hello, couriers), then the Pedros Cone Wrenches will be right up your alley. (Huh; that sounded different in my head. Anyway.) Pedro's Sadly, cone wenches have proved far less popular than previously hoped...cone wrenches are heat-treated steel with a premium cut, ergonomic no-slip design. You'll be able to show those locknuts who's boss with maximum leverage and comfort. No hub too big or too small... um... as long as it's between 13 mm and 19 mm.

You've got enough to worry about on a long distance MTB ride (punctures, gels, nearest pub, bear attacks) without unnecessary fatigue adding to the list. Zoom bar ends offer more riding positions to refresh your body so you won'tIt just looks like confusion from here, doesn't it? end up having to be prised off your saddle like a snap-frozen bean. As a bonus, they provide extra leverage on those long, long climbs. ("Why didn't you tell us that before we did the Foxy1000?" shriek our battered readers. "We still can't feel our thighs!")

Ladies, your days of bunchy palms are over: we've now got the women-specific Pearl Izumi Select* Gloves in stock! Perfect for long or short rides, the gel inserts protect the ulnar and Select: better than calling them 'B1tchslap', I guess...median nerves while absorbing shock and eliminating vibration, the mesh uppers keep you cool, and the velcro closure keeps the fit secure. With Select, no longer will you have to endure the irritation of ill-fitting handwear while shaking your fists at inattentive drivers.

* Side note: the Select gloves offer the same padding pattern as the Attack gloves but have been renamed for the female market. Pish posh! Surely Claw would a suitably "girly" alternative to Attack. Or Gouge. Or Hissyfit...OK, probably not that last one.
The triumph of Turrini
Huge congrats to BMCR rider Tim Turrini-Our boy. Our boy! *sobs with pride*Rochford, who took out first place in the Father's Day Classic time trial on September 7th!

Alert readers will remember the call to arms for the fund-raiser in our last e.newsletter. (No, we had nothing to do with the results. How much power do you think we have, people? It's all in Tim's legs.) See right for the champ looking modest on the podium. Tim says he intends to spend his winnings on thirty tubes of chamois cream and a chocolate muffin the size of his head. Go team!
It's a short and sweet one this month! Don't forget to register for Ride to Work Day. (Oh, the irony that it's during the one week we're not working.)

Keep riding, and stay safe. See you after the 20th. :-)

Cheers!
